Responsible Recycling

Your mattress is taken to approved recycling facilities where materials like metal, foam, and fabric are separated and processed to reduce landfill waste.

How Mattress Recycling Works

A standard mattress contains a variety of recyclable materials, including steel springs, foam padding, fabric, and wood components. When mattresses are thrown away, they take up significant landfill space and can take many years to fully break down.

Through our recycling partners, each mattress is carefully dismantled so its materials can be reused. During this process, the different components are separated and prepared for new purposes:

  • Steel coils and springs are recovered and recycled into new metal products

  • Foam and cushioning materials are repurposed into carpet underlay, insulation, and pet bedding

  • Textiles and fibers are processed for use in industrial materials

  • Wood pieces are chipped and reused for biomass energy or recycled wood products

By recycling these materials, a large portion of each mattress can be recovered and reused. This helps reduce landfill waste, conserve natural resources, and support more sustainable waste management practices.
